Here are a couple of drawings made a couple of years ago while Jeff and I were visiting our friends Greg and Kim in Texas. It was so lovely visiting these friends in their home to catch up, get a sense of how they were doing in their new-ish place (at that point they had moved there a year or so (?) earlier from the Northeast) and scope out out the town.

Landscapes in Summer

Landscapes in Summer

Spring is in ten days, but it is still Winter so let's spend some time thinking about SUMMER! I love Summer. I love hot weather and while a little bit of Winter is okay, I would really be much happier living out my days in a linen sundress and a floppy hat.

Mom's Plants

Mom's Plants

My mom keeps beautiful gardens. She works long hours all week as a Nurse Navigator at an Oncology Center and if she isn't doing that she is either quilting or gardening depending on the season. She is a busy bee and while I don't think I can hold a candle to that flame of hers, I like to think that I follow in her footsteps at least a little bit with my productivity levels.

If I weren't writing this right now I might be drawing the keyboard or shelf in front of me. These things aren't very interesting to look at, but to be able to accurately capture their angles and proportions correctly is a challenge better than staring off into space or into the depths of social media while I wait for Jeff to get out of the shower so we can go and get Mexican food. mmmm Mexican food....
